A for Apple

As a kid, I really hated apples. They were either too hard to bite, getting stuck in between my teeth or, so soft that they crumbled into tasteless powder in my mouth. And, there was no way of figuring out which one was what from the outside!

But, as with many other things, I outgrew my hatred for apples with age. So much so that, I have been shelling out a fair share of my hard earned salary for apples over the years.

In 2012, I spent around 500% of what normal people spend on food in a month on just apple. In 2015, I think it was around 1K% of what an average person expends on food in a month. Oh, by the way, in 2005 and 2010, I cajoled friends into gifting me apples for my respective birthdays. Yeah! What a swing from hatred to love, you would say.

Wonder how much wider the swing from hatred to love would have been if Jobs had named it Coffee!

P. S. This post is the first in the A-Z blogging challenge series for April.

Hi Kavity I found your blog through the A to Z Challenge!

I had kind of the same thing but with another fruit. When I was a child, I LOVED raisins, but would not eat grapes. Then came the day I found out that raisins were really dried grapes. Now I love grapes and wouldn't eat a raisin if you paid me!
