Separation - Whose anxiety is it really?

It has been a difficult morning yet again, perhaps a little more difficult than usual. She wails as I shut the door to leave for work. Usually, the wailing stops immediately, and I eavesdrop on her childish babble before leaving the doorstep. But, today, I can hear the wails as I walk down the stairs.
